In the Blog-world but not of it?

August 14th, 2006 · 2 Comments · Apologetics, Christianity, Issues, My Faith

Does it bug anyone else out here in the christian-blog world that we are so worried about what makes a “good” christian-blog? and then all we talk about is how to increase the traffic?. And that the guru’s of the christian-blog world traffic come up with the formulas the not-so-christian-blog world has been using for years?

Controversy

Commenting

Staying On the “Hot Topics”

Befriending the Big Shot Bloggers

Linking, and more linking

etc. etc.

So whats so “christian” about this work ethic?

While I agree that the “pressing matters” must be discussed and controversy will abound where free speech does and that to find good stuff you need links etc… But do you get a feeling that we are way too much over doing it?

Call me misguided but, hell, as a newbie here I spent a considerable lot of my energy reading up stuff on how to have better traffic etc till I realized that I was blogging for the wrong purpose.

I am not supposed to be here to sell my stuff of to sell myself, I am supposed to be here for honest wholesome conversation, for learning new stuff (not just the bizillion sides to the same ten topics), for making friends with whom its not a “i scratch yours you scratch mine” relationship, and for sharing knowledge bec knowledge grows by sharing, for growing in faith and for a medium of release, where my chaotic mind energy could be organized.

“We are in the world and of it” should be the new motto for the C-Blog-world.

Here’s a word about my policy about the above stuff

If you appritiate my stuff, write someting better, you can.

If you want me to know I am doing someting real brilliant or real dumb, drop me a line, the id is misterbookworm at the gmail

Want to write someting on similar lines? dont comment, do something on your blog and if you can, send me a track back.

Take time to think reflect and change instead of comment link and copy.

Ciao
