My dad loves comic books; Batman, Superman, Greenlantern, Phantom, Mandrake you name it. But he has some seroius problems with what he calls the “new generation comics”
Same old heroes same ol super powers but things have changed drasticaly
(his language)
1 Nudity and the likes, its not only more rampant but also more obvious. Not the kind of stuff that should be lying around a bible teachers home (I agree some of the stuff is pure filth)
2 They are all so human now!!! In my days the good guys always won, and the hero never lost, but they are a bunch of losers now. weak, frail succmbing to human passions like mere mortals. they are supposed to inspire people not identify with them etc etc.( you know how they go..)
Actually I agree with my pa, there has been a gradual but deliberate and all pervading “humanizing” of the heroes, real ones and the inked ones, as if the world today cherishes and desires fallen heroes, weak role models and depraved leaders, not the old styled “good always wins and not just in the end” types.
Do you wonder why?
Here’s the question, the real one,
What is man if his evil is taken away?
Super-man?, Imago die? so Imago die is just a superhero?
Invincible,making right choices always, inspiring?
So what we call human nature is actually just the filth?
Nature of god, image of god, yet sinful.
How can that happen?
How did that happen?
Why and how did super-man Fall?
